Undergraduate studies

The undergraduate studies inTextile Technology and Engineering and Textile and Fashion design last for 6 semesters.

The undergraduate course offers at least 180 ECTS credits and the students who have completed it are awarded the academic titles of:

  • Bachelor of science in Textile Technology and Engineering
  • Bachelor of science in Textile and Fashion Design

The courses are divided into branches, enabling the students to specialise in one of the sub-branches of textiles and fashion.


Undergraduate study Textile Technology and Engineering

The undergraduate study Textile Technology and Engineering offers 4 branches:

  • Engineering Design and Management of Textiles
  • Textile Chemistry, Materials and Ecology
  • Clothing Engineering
  • Textile and Clothing Design for Industry

The studies are designed so that, provided adequate effort is invested on the part of the student, an average student can take year by year with no particular problem.

The students are expected to attend to all the forms of instruction regularly and take an active part in them.

The study programmes offered enable the students to fulfil all of his/her obligations associated with every subject during the instruction, or immediately after it.

The system of continuous checking of knowledge, through tests and homework assignments urges the students to work with high intensity and in a continuous manner, which is a prerequisite for a successful study, advance and completing the education in a predetermined time.


Undergraduate study Textile and Fashion Design

The study is conceived in the following way: according to the process of classification the students start with the first year of studies, after which they can choose one of two modules that last two years each:

  • Fashion design
  • Textile design

During the studies and with help of artistic and creative courses the students shape their individuality and develop the talents of creative research and design of textile or clothing that they connect with the module of specific knowledge from technological, humanistic and natural sciences. At the end of the studies they get the title Baccalearus TMD with the supplement Fashion designer or Textile designer. The knowledge that the student acquires during the three-year education give him/her the basis for independent or team work on the market (fashion/textile designer, designer of accessories, stylist, textile/fashion expert in various institutions, the manager and director of scientific workshops and so on), as well as the basis to continue the education at the following studies: Fashion design, Textile design, Costume design, Theory and culture of fashion, Clothing design for industry and Fashion design for industry.
