At present, MMSU has 11 colleges offering a wide range of specializations across 72 degree programs: 1) Agriculture, Food and Sustainable Development; 2) Aquatic Sciences and Applied Technology; 3) Arts and Sciences; 4) Business, Economics, and Accountancy; 5) Engineering; 6) Health Sciences; 7) Industrial Technology; 8) Teacher Education; 9) Graduate School; 10) Medicine; and 11) Law. It also offers elementary and secondary education (through its Laboratory Schools), as well as short-term diploma and training programs. Likewise, the university offers Accountancy and Business Management (ABM) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in its senior high school program at the Laboratory High School.
Majority of these programs are accredited at various levels by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), making MMSU the second highest SUC in the country with the most number of Level III accredited programs and the first to have attained the Level III Re-accredited status for its programs in agriculture, agricultural engineering, and forestry.
MMSU's Professional Science Masters in Renewable Energy Engineering is recognized as the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. The University is also deputized to accept enrolees in the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) in its Level III-accredited programs, thereby providing an alternative mode for qualified individuals to obtain a college degree.
Over the years, MMSU has been recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission as Top Performing School based on the outstanding performance of its graduates in licensure examinations in various disciplines, such as Teacher Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Accountancy, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Fisheries. Additionally, the university has produced a significant number of topnotchers.
Furthermore, it holds the distinction of being the overall champion in the PASUC 1 Culture and the Arts Festival and the SCUAA 1 Olympics for the last sixteen years. Similarly, the university's athletes and artists have reaped awards at the national level.
