Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB)

Founded in 1993, Independent University, Bangladesh is one of the oldest private universities in Bangladesh where academic excellence is a tradition, teaching a passion and lifelong learning a habit. IUB currently has more than 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students and over 12,500 alumni. The student population is projected to grow at 10% annually. Excluding the home country, IUB has currently students from 11 different countries in Africa, Asia, Middle East & North America. The students of IUB experience an exciting academic life with copious opportunity to explore and nurture their innate talent. 

IUB has world-class undergraduate and graduate program accredited by professional national 7 international accreditation bodies, such as  University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC), Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), USA, and Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).  IUB prepares graduates for a successful career and this is central to the design of courses and the support we provide. We have explicit focus on research in the design of our programs. The students are trained to do research and there are plenty of research opportunities. This enables students to publish their research work in nationally and internationally reputed journals. 

IUB has state-of-the-art infrastructure, including modern laboratories, library, gymnasium, food court, auditorium etc. which are comparable to the international universities in the developed countries. IUB offers career advice, psycho-social counseling, health services, academic advising etc.  We organize various sports competitions and cultural programs at IUB campus. We also participate in various national level inter-university sports, robotics, debates and similar competitions.
