Dalhousie University Libraries

With five libraries, two learning commons, archival collections, a Geographical Information Sciences (GIS) Centre, and a Copyright Office, the libraries strengthen the university’s learning and research communities with expertise, services, spaces and collections, all reinforced through innovation and strategic partnerships.


Athletic Facilities

Dalhousie's largest athletic facility is located on Studley campus in Halifax. Dalplex features an indoor pool, fitness studios, a large fitness hall with strength and cardio equipment, squash and racquetball courts and a fieldhouse. Sexton Gym, on the Sexton Campus, has a revamped weight and cardio room, a new studio space and a gymnasium. Located on the Agricultural Campus in Truro, the Langille Athletic Centre includes a weight room, cardio room, gymnasium, racquetball and squash courts.

Health & Wellness

Dalhousie Student Health & Wellness is here to support you with convenient locations on the Studley, Sexton, and Truro campuses. The Student Health & Wellness Centre (SHWC) is located on Studley Campus in Halifax. The Centre provides students with certified quality primary and mental health care services to promote and enhance your health and wellbeing. Main services include medical services, counselling, social work, peer support and health promotion expertise. Health Services are offered through the Student Success Centre located on Dal’s Agricultural Campus in Truro. Main services include nursing assessments, health counseling and education, sexual health counselling, physician appointments and referrals to community services. The Melda Murray Student Centre (MMSC) is located on Sexton Campus in Halifax. The MMSC aims to enhance the student experience on Sexton Campus by providing convenient access counselling services.

Residences

It doesn’t get any more convenient than on-campus living. New from high school students are guaranteed a place in residence if they apply before the deadline. Eleven residence buildings (eight in Halifax and three in Truro) welcome students to a home-away-from-home that includes support and mentorship from residence life staff, dedicated high-speed Wi-Fi, 24-hour front desk support and a variety of meal plans. 

International Centre

We are proud of our diversity, with a growing international student population and a commitment to expanding access to historically underrepresented groups. We welcome more than 4,700 international students from over 130 countries around the world, helping them succeed with dedicated programming and supports.

Clubs and Societies

You’ll find more than 400 active student societies and regular campus events, as well as opportunities to volunteer, take part in research and discover your strengths and passions.

Applications for September admission open October 15. If you’ve completed your first degree, you can apply for one of our graduate level programs.
