Tarlac Agricultural University

The Tarlac Agricultrual University (TAU), located in Camiling, Tarlac, Philippines (Region III, Central Luzon, North of Manila), is a state university mandated to primarily provide advanced education, higher technological, professional instruction and training in the fields of agriculture, agribusiness management, science and technology, engineering, teacher education, non-traditional courses, and other relevant fields of study. It also undertakes research, extension services, and production activities in support of the development of the Province of Tarlac, and provide leadership in its areas of specialization.
It has undergone institutional development and progressive transformation for 73 years now. Originally known as Camiling Boys/ Girls High School in 1944, it became an independent agricultural college as Tarlac College of Agriculture (TCA) by virtue of Presidential Decree 609 on December 18, 1974.
With the enactment of Republic Act 10800 on May 10, 2016, the former Tarlac College of Agriculture (TCA) was officially converted to Tarlac Agricultural University. The conversation pushes the University to be strategically committed to advance its portfolio of global partnerships through the development of sustainable and mutually beneficial alliances with academic institutions, government agencies and private industries that share common aims and interests. These collaborations bring many benefits to staff and students alike, and extend and enhance the University’s international reach and reputation with the thrust to expand horizons on partnership development, increase its consortia or organizational memberships, and advance its internationalization and global engagement.
Driven to instigate the vision to become one of the Top 500 universities in Asia, the University aggressively takes bold imperative initiatives to develop a resilient internationalization engagement, to build relevant opportunities for faculty and students towards cross border mobility and internationalization of higher education, and to redesign the institution’s capability in escalating memberships in alliances and networks.
