JMU offers over 100 subjects in areas ranging from medicine and the natural sciences through to economics and the humanities including 19 Master programmes completely in English – from Applied Earth Observation to Translational Neuroscience.

JMU‘s Service Centre International Affairs team supports and advises international applicants who do not have German citizenship and/or a German university degree when planning their stay in Würzburg.

In addition to the first (Bachelor) and second cycles of education (Master), JMU places particular focus on doctoral training. The establishment of four Graduate Schools in 2003 has allowed for structured doctoral training, covering the entire research landscape at JMU:

▪        Graduate School of Life Sciences

▪        Graduate School of Humanities

▪        Graduate School of Science and Technology

▪        Graduate School of Law, Economics and Society

These Graduate Schools operate together as the University of Würzburg Graduate Schools (UWGS).

The JMU Research Academy provides training, advising, mentoring, and other professional development activities for academic staff at all career levels, in order to help them realise their professional goals.

The Welcome Centre is JMU’s central point of service for international guests, newly appointed professors, international post docs and guest professors before and during their stay at the University of Würzburg. The Welcome Centre strives to make it easier for them to settle in in Würzburg, have a successful start in their position and feel at home at the university.
