Management of Creative Industries

Creative industries have become a relevant part of our economy. The digital shift is a major driver. Berlin is a booming hotspot in the sector. Almost on a weekly basis, international players start activities in the city. Founders of all nationalities set up countless startups here. The main reasons for the attractiveness of Berlin are the tolerant and open atmosphere, its internationality, but also hard factors such as relatively low costs of living and rent and a large pool of dedicated and highly qualified professionals. However, when the growth continues or even expands, the city will need a continuous feed of specialists. The impact on the educational system is yet unexplored. bbw is the first German university of applied sciences to offer a Master’s programme dedicated to the management of the creative industries as a whole. The holistic approach has the advantage of preparing professionals to proactively respond to the challenges that continually reshape the industry. By focussing on transversal subjects affecting multiple creative industries, new and emerging competences such as trans-sectorial intellectual property management, crowd funding and community-based marketing can be developed.

Strategic Management in Logistics

The spread of globalisation has required companies to introduce flexible and dynamic process chains to meet the challenges of the global market. The Masterʼs programme “Strategic Ma¬nagement in Logistics” focuses on the business methods and skills required for international logistics and global supply chain management. Graduates will be able to analyse the strategic issues of logistics and global supply chain management, develop solution concepts, and successfully apply them in a business context. The course modules are designed to meet the specific demands that executives in the field of logistics expect from such a course. Modules are taught in a practical manner, with attention given to developing the skills needed to approach problems analytically, to recognise structures, and to conceive problem-solving stra¬tegies. Training the appropriate analysis techniques is essential to ensuring that these objectives are reached. The practical orientation of the Masterʼs programme “Strategic Management of Logistics” is demonstrated through the support provided by Deutsche Bahn and other firms.

International Technology Transfer Management

ITTM is a unique programme intended for anyone interested in an internationally oriented management career. The graduated ITTMs will mostly work in multinational companies and in an international context. ITTM has been developed for Bachelor Degree holders in engineering and business administration. Graduates with other degrees looking for a future career in international technology transfer management are also encouraged to apply. The course is structured so that students understand the methods, processes, technologies and instruments of technology transfer, as well as learning how to manage products and innovations. The main objective of the programme is to facilitate a student’s professional advancement. To ensure this, the scientific and practical experience of the lecturers and partners is of a very high standard. The in-course communication and collaboration technologies are outstanding, and the core units all have a uniquely practical relevance.
