Université Constantine 1

Constantine University 1 is located in the Algerian city of Constantine, found in the north-east of the country. Originally called the University of Mentouri, the university is notable for being largely designed by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. Niemeyer’s obituary on the BBC described him as: “one of the most innovative and daring architects of the last 60 years”. 

The city of Constantine - named after Constantine the Great - is the commercial center of eastern Algeria and the third-largest city in the country. It is one of four universities in the city. Recently the Arab Capital of Culture, the city offers plenty of interesting sights and things to do while studying here.
