Sunway University, one of Malaysia’s leading private universities which is a strictly not-for-profit institution and dedicated to quality education, supporting enterprise, and undertaking research focused on key global problems. The University is based in Sunway City, a thriving green resort city built on reclaimed former tin-mining land, on the western side of Kuala Lumpur in the heart of the Klang Valley. The University is relatively young by global standards, but is already ranked within the top 2% of universities in the world (QS World University Rankings), and in the top 1.5% of universities in Asia, as well as being ranked within the top 150 universities in the world under 50 years old. The University has a 5-star “excellent” rating by the Malaysian government (in the latest Setara assessment exercise), and is one of just eleven universities in Malaysia to be awarded the special “Premier Digital Technology University” status. We have developed close collaborations with many leading international universities including Harvard University and the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Some professors from the latter hold distinguished visiting appointments giving occasional lectures to our University and the wider Sunway City community through our Jeffrey Cheah Distinguished Speakers series of public lectures. These are named after the founder of Sunway City and of the University, Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah, who is also the chairman of Sunway Group, one of Malaysia’s leading industrial conglomerates and developer of Sunway City. We have a very close relationship with Lancaster University in the UK, enabling our students on many programmes to also qualify for Lancaster degrees.

UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings on sustainability. It is an initiative of the University of Indonesia that ranks universities around the world based on their commitment and actions towards sustainability. UI GreenMetric World University Rankings aims to increase university awareness towards sustainability.

Occupying 22 acres of prime land in Sunway City, Petaling Jaya, the campus is fully equipped with academic, hostel and sporting facilities and is amongst the largest and most modern private institutions in Malaysia.
The campus comes complete with wireless access coverage (Wi-Fi) available 24-hours per day which covers classrooms, lecture halls, cafeteria, library, concourse and open areas that are conducive for student discussions, communications, e-Learning and working on course assignments.
The Sunway Campus library is ISO 9001:2015 certified. It is one of the largest libraries in Malaysian private educational institutions. Equipped with the latest library technology, Sunway Campus library is linked to international e-databases and thousands of e-journals, allowing our students access to a global wealth of knowledge.
The spacious 72,000 square feet of floor space in the library provides a variety of learning spaces including:
- Individual ad collaborative learning spaces;
- Viewing Zone (for video content);
- Group Project Pods (for group studies and meetings);
- Training Rooms;
- Instructional Lab;
- Drink and Phone Area;
- Information Technology facilities.
Library users have access to the Extended Hour Study Area which opens until 2.00AM daily. The Sunway Campus library is a library with an ever-expanding collection and variety of:

- E-Journals
- Online e-databases
- Audio visual materials
and other collections to support the teaching, learning and research efforts of the academic community at Sunway.
The University values security and have therefore set up a 24-hour Security and Auxiliary Police & Security personnel who are accorded full-fledged auxiliary police status.
Student LIFE department aims toprovide a supportive, friendly and challenging environment outside of theclassroom for academic success and individual development of the students.There are multiple opportunities available for leadership development, skill enhancement,social interaction, character building and community service activities.
Student LIFE also offers a range of support services such ascounseling and wellness to help students meet some of the challenges they mayexperience as a university student.

Internationalstudents applying for undergraduate study at Sunway must have qualificationsequivalent to the Malaysian Higher School Certificate known as Sijil TinggiPersekolahan Malaysia (STPM). The methods used by the University to determinethe overall grade of several pre-university qualifications are as follows:
A-Level
The A-Level is a secondary school leaving qualification in theUnited Kingdom (UK) and commonly offered as an international qualificationoutside the UK. Students’ best three grades achieved in their A-Levelqualification would be assigned specific points and summated to arrive at a scorethat would be considered for admission.
InternationalBaccalaureate
If students’ total points on the International Baccalaureate,excluding bonus points, exceed the stated requirements, they would then qualifyfor admission. Students also need to present proof of successful completion ofa diploma.
Graduate Study
For admission to a graduate study programme at Sunway,international students should have completed a relevant bachelor’s or honoursdegree, as appropriate, with the required grade point average. Students whosefirst language is not English must also provide proof of proficiency in theEnglish language, with an IELTS score of at least 6.0 or an equivalent score onthe TOEFL. In some cases, a portfolio or any other proof of further work donemay also be required.
