Post Graduate Programs
A master of coursework degree is defined as a 2-year full-time program of study which has a substantial coursework lecture followed by a Masters project while a full by-research degree is offered too. In order to gain admission to most postgraduate courses in SUT, it is necessary to have a qualified four-year Iranian university degree or the equivalent from an approved university abroad.

Ph.D. Programs
The degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) is a university wide award, available in every faculty. The doctor of philosophy is a coursework degree followed by a thesis embodying the results of original research.

The Academic Year
The academic year is divided into two semesters both followed by an exams period. The first semester runs from September 13 to January 5, and the second semester from February 5 to June 15. There is a two-week break between each semester.
