KGU's avowed mission, “to helpstudents master their God-given gifts in order to serve their neighbors,society and the world,” is reflected in the university’s motto of Mastery forService. As part of that endeavor, in 2010, KGU established the School ofInternational Studies, which offers undergraduate degree programs conductedentirely in English, in order to attract students from all over the world. KGUhas also made great strides toward becoming a more globally-minded institutionthrough various initiatives, such as the UN and Foreign Affairs Studiesgraduate minor, a practical program launched in 2017 that trains professionalsfor future employment at UN agencies and other foreign organizations. Thanks tothese efforts, KGU was selected for inclusion in the Top Global UniversityProject, a government initiative which aims to improve the internationalcompetitiveness of Japanese universities.
Going forward, Kwansei Gakuin University will strive to further developits worldwide reputation as one of Japan’s leading educational institutions.
