About
Originally founded as provincial teacher’s college in 1948, KongJu National University has grown rapidly since being officially designated as a university in 1991, and is now made up of three campuses in the western province of Chungnam, South Korea, in Gongju, Yesan and Cheonan. More than 22,000 students are enrolled in total, of which 19,000 are undergraduates and 3,000 are postgraduates. KongJu has produced more than 100,000 graduates who are making big impacts in their fields both in and beyond South Korea.
Four of the university’s six colleges are based at the main campus in Gongju: the College of Education, the College of Natural Sciences, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Visual Image and Health. The Yesan campus is home to the College of Industrial Sciences, while engineering courses are delivered at Cheonan.
There are also seven professional graduate schools:

- Business & Public Administration
- Security Science
- Special Education
- Technology & Management
- Cultural Heritage
There are several English-taught programs aimed at international students, including international trade, law, economics, computer engineering and geography. The university also offers scholarships for international students which cover up to 100 percent of their tuition fees for those with a GPA of 4.0 or above.
