Irkutsk National Research Technical University knows that a choice of an undergraduate program is a crucial turning point in a student’s life and has a wide range of bachelor programs on offer. The university staff is more than happy to consult students on the peculiarities of any of its 88 undergraduate programs to help students make a right decision. 

The programs of 4 and 5 years duration taught in Russian include such area of interest as: Architecture and Design, Mechanical Engineering, Transport Process Technology, Heat-power engineering, Applied Geology, Mining, Oil and Gas Engineering, Nanotechnologies and Microsystem Engineering, Information Science and Computer Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Technology, Economics and Management, Law.

Students with good command of English are welcome to study English-taught Bachelor’s  programs which are based on the best international practices and the demand of tomorrow. The list of English taught programs includes: 

• Ecology engineering and pure energy; 
• Sustainable innovative economics; 
• International business;
• Journalism and media communications; 
• Artificial intelligence and computer science;

All classes within these programs are taught in English by the qualified staff with the experience to teach in a multi-cultural environment. The professors and lecturers come from Russia as well as from the USA, Austria, India, Vietnam and Iran.

To apply to an undergraduate program candidates should send a list of required documents for initial expertise, which includes:

• application form (available on the website http://www.istu.edu/apply/);
• an international passport copy;
• a copy of education certificate including an appendix with grades and a notarized English (or Russian) translation.

The deadline for submitting documents is 20th of August.

Candidates who submitted applications for English-taught programs take two entrance exams - in English (or provide TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) and in Maths. There is also an online-interview in English where international students can demonstrate their knowledge of spoken English.

Students who submitted applications for Russian-taught programs take three exams in Maths, Russian and a major subject depending on a chosen field of study.

Undergraduate tuition for English-taught programs varies from 2 100 to 3 100 USD per year. Russian-taught programs cost between 2 000 to 4 000 USD per year.

All international students are provided with comfortable dormitories located at the university campus.
