Despite the large campus, students will still have plenty of opportunities to experience the city of Hyderabad, one of the largest in India. Traditionally known as the “City of Pearls”, there’s plenty to explore here in between your studies. You’ll also be ideally situated for your post-university career with several major industries located here. In fact, Hyderabad is the fifth-largest contributor to India’s GDP, with a reported output of US$74billion. Pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries are particularly prominent here. When they first established themselves in the city in the 1990s, it led to the area being labelled as India's "Genome Valley".
13 universities are located in Hyderabad in total, which means there’s a sizeable student population living among the city’s nearly seven million residents.
