Created in 1988, Excelia Group, located in La Rochelle, France, has a solid presence in the local region but also on an international level, supported by a major network of partner universities and companies both within France and worldwide.

The Group is independent and autonomous in its decision-making as well as being multidisciplinary and multi-campus, and today boasts 5 different schools, sharing a strong identity, focussing on employability and responsibility.

Since 2007, Excelia Group has been a member of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles, an association grouping some forty State-recognised Management Schools. Membership is based on stringent criteria relating to the school’s structure, recruitment methods, pedagogical approach, international dimension, relationship with the corporate world, student support and guidance, and the type of qualifications on offer.

Since 2013, La Rochelle Business School has been AACSB accredited, an international label of excellence held by only 5% of business schools worldwide.

EPAS, a quality label for La Rochelle’s BBA and Master in Management programs:

In February 2014, the School was awarded a renewal of its EPAS accreditation for the maximum period of 5 years. This accreditation guaranteed students on the two programs receive a quality, coherent and internationally-focused education that complies with demanding specifications. EPAS is an international program accreditation system operated by the international organization, European Foundation for Management Development.

In 2009, La Rochelle Tourism & Hospitality School obtained UNWTO.TedQual certification for all of its programs, the first French school of tourism to have done so. This ensures that the school is recognized in the tourism industry on an international level. The accreditation was renewed in 2014 for the maximum period of 4 years.

The UNWTO.TedQual Certification System, created in 1999 by the World Tourism Organization with the support of the United Nations, is a quality assurance system for high-level education and training in the tourism, hospitality and the food and beverage industries. It is based on the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism and establishes standards of quality and excellence in education, training, savoir-faire and social skills at an international level. Its criteria also include research and teaching in tourism management and hotel management.

Notable programs at Excelia Group 

Master’s in Management:

Excelia Group’s Master’s in Management program places human elements and experience at the heart of its curriculum and pedagogy.
Students can undertake the Master’s in Management program in either English or French. Students on the master’s program will be trained in business and management skills to become responsible business managers for the leaders of tomorrow’s organizations. 

• Excelia Group’s Master’s in Management program offers the Humacité Project: a social, humanitarian or civic voluntary project, enabling students at the business school to develop the values to become a committed and responsible manager
• Utilize the Experiential and Personal Development (EDP) program which allows students to build their own unique study path
• The Master’s in Management at La Rochelle Business School is dual accredited (AACSB and EPAS), renewed in 2019 for a maximum duration of 5 years. In addition, for the last 15 years, the Master’s in Management is state-certified and awards a Grade de Master qualification

Students can go global thanks to an international project element which includes Cap Anglophone, Humacité©, internships, academic expatriation, and the track is 100 percent in English.

By the end of the program, students on the Master’s in Management program will have received one to two years professional experience through internships or work-study, which will provide students with valuable professional experience before graduating.

BBA International 

The BBA International combines political science and management, preparing students on the program for an international career in the development of organizations.
La Rochelle Business School’s BBA is taught in both English and French, making it the perfect program for international students. The graduate program starts in September each year and is full-time. Students also have the choice of which French city they study at: La Rochelle or Paris.

Students on the graduate program will receive training in international cooperation. 50 percent of the program on the BBA International at La Rochelle takes place abroad (Humacité© project, academic expatriation, company-based internships).
BBA International students will get 13 international double qualification, there is an English Track available from the first year (perfect for international students or those hoping to improve their English language proficiency while studying abroad).

Semesters on the program are also structured around four geopolitical zones:
• Europe
• Africa and the Middle East
• Asia
• The Americas

And international travel doesn’t stop there for students. BBA International participants can enjoy one-week Learning Expeditions to Brussels, Marrakech, Bilbao (study trips providing a common thread for the geopolitical zones studied) to name but a few global locations.

In Years 1 and 2 on the BBA International there are 274 hours of language teaching – meaning students can improve their French and English language proficiency.

Students will receive personalized support and guidance to help define their professional project and plan your future, and there is the possibility of a Work-study Track in Year 4.

La Rochelle Business School’s BBA International has triple recognition. The program is certified as a 4-year post-High School qualification by the Ministry of Higher Education, AACSB and EPAS accreditations, International University qualification.
