Fergana State University, established in 1930 as a pedagogical institute, holds the distinction of being one of Uzbekistan's oldest higher education institutions. On March 1, 1991, the educational institute earned its status as a public university, opening new chapter in the history of the institution. The establishment of the university contributed not only to the training of highly qualified personnel, but also to the acceleration of scientific development and socio-economic growth in the region. Comprising 13 faculties and 46 departments, the university currently offers a diverse array of academic programs, including 56 bachelor's and 26 master's programs spanning various fields. Nearly 17,000 full-time students are enrolled at Fergana State University, of whom 166 are international students, and 930 are graduate and post-graduate students. Boasting an academic staff of 924, which includes 44 professors, 198 associate professors and 351 assistant professors, Fergana State University remains committed to maintaining an ideal student to faculty ratio. The scientific potential of professors-teachers increased from 26.6% in 2020 to 36.2% in 2023. Demonstrating its dedication to research and innovation, the university maintains ten field laboratories, focusing on the development of products in agriculture and health. The university offers 99 extracurricular clubs and courses to which more than 3550 students attend. The university's commitment to excellence is underscored by its achievements on the global stage. In 2022 only, seven students garnered accolades in international and national science Olympiads, while a third-year student from the Faculty of Physical Culture successfully participated in the Paralympics "Tokyo-2020." Another student clinched a gold medal at the Central Asian Athletics Championship. Noteworthy is the university's global outreach, having signed over 90 memorandums and cooperation agreements with foreign higher education institutions. These collaborations have led to setting up numerous international projects and programs, solidifying Fergana State University's position as a hub of academic excellence.
