UFSCar is committed to the highest standards of teaching, earning, scholarship, research and training trying to go beyond the average academic performance. This principle is respected, mostly due to its prestigious teaching levels - 99.89% of the teachers are doctors and masters- almost all of them (98.74%) working full-time. The high quality and productivity in research developed at the institution, in all areas of knowledge, are linked to decisions made throughout the history of UFSCar, i.e., to build a single university: prioritizing the scientific-technological field at the beginning of its activities; creating innovative undergraduate courses, adopting a permanent policy of teacher’s qualification in Brazil and abroad, and opening democratic spaces to allow the university community to participate in institutional decisions.
