The university is generally best-known for specializing in education and Korean folklore. The graduate school at the university was first established in 1988.
Students at the university primarily stay in on-campus accommodation, with a choice between single-sex or co-ed living. While studying here, you can expect to experience many of the city’s customs and traditions, including a folk festival which is held every year and which features revellers wearing masks. The city is also home to Hahoe Folk Village, the most notable folk village in South Korea and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
