Vladimir State University was started with as a branch of Moscow Institute of electronic mechanical engineering in 1958. In 1977 Vladimir Polytechnic Institute took the 1st place in the contest among the USSR institutes. In 2011 by the order of the Minister of Education № 1439 from 31.03.2011 Vladmir State University named after Alexander and Nikolay Stoletovs was united with Vladimir State Humanitarian University. Since 1978 University has been training foreign students. We offer: 103 Bachelor courses, 43 Master courses, 62 Postgraduate courses. Total amount of students: 25000, among them about 600 foreign students (from 58 countries). 134 university partners' agreement from 35 countries. Institute of innovation technologies (Architecture and civil construction, Automobile, Mechanic-engineering, Radio physics, electronics and medical technics, information technologies); Institute of fundamental science: chemistry and ecology, applied mathematics and physics; Institute of economics and management; Institute of law; Institute of human sciences:philosophical, historical and social sciences, psychology; Pedagogical institute: physics and mathematics, philological, natural-geography, preschool and elementary education, historical, foreign languages; Institute of sport. Center of international education for maintaning foreign students. Research-educational centers: automation of engineering-technological preparation for mechanical-engineering, smart mechatronic systems and mobile objects controlling components, nano-structured coatings.
