The University of Pretoria is one of the largest contact universities in South Africa with six campuses across the capital city of South Africa and a business school, called the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) in Johannesburg. It has 53 024 full-time and part-time students. The university has a diverse student population which is representative of all South Africa's cultural and racial backgrounds. The undergraduate students comprise more than 72% of the total contact students. The University of Pretoria's undergraduate academic programmes cover a wide spectrum of disciplines including Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as Natural Sciences, Engineering and Life Sciences. The University's academic structure is arranged into nine faculties and a business school. These faculties are: Economic and Management Sciences; Education; Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology; Health Sciences; Humanities; Law; Natural and Agricultural Sciences; Veterinary Science; and Theology. Overall, the University offers approximately 226 undergraduate study programmes.
