The Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia (UPTC) is an autonomous national, state, and public university entity, democratic and of special regime, linked to the Ministry of Education. The University has its main campus in Tunja - Boyacá, and branch campuses in Duitama, Sogamoso, and Chiquinquirá. It also has a Regional Center for Higher Education in Aguazul - Casanare. It offers 188 academic programs, as follows:

Technical Programs: 6 Technologists: 11 Undergraduate Programs: 59 Specializations: 52 Master's Degrees: 48 Doctorates: 12

The mission of the University is to educate competent and ethical professionals, builders of a reflective, critical, and solidarity-oriented citizenship in harmony with the humanistic vision of Upetecista culture, committed to promoting the development and social welfare of the region and the nation.

Through its teaching, research, and extension work at different levels of education (undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education), and the plurality of existing knowledge, UPTC is articulated with the dynamics of the productive sector, the national government, territorial entities, and civil society, committed - within the framework of participatory democracy and peacebuilding - to the pursuit of inclusive and sustainable human development. The leadership, responsibility, and social commitment of the graduates contribute to the consolidation of a more just, equitable, and democratic regional society and nation.

The University offers a wide variety of incoming mobility agreements for foreign applicants in order to obtain the best academic and cultural exchange experience.
