Even though the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juarez, is comparatively a young University (founded in 1973), it already has a reputation for academic excellence in México’s Higher Learning level. Located in one of Latin America’s most intense commercial and cultural trade zones, currently it is composed of four institutes and three multidisciplinary divisions. Organized in the Departmental Model and based mainly in an educational model centered on learning implemented over a decade ago. We have developed strategies to provide our students with tools that will allow them to play a more relevant role in the management of their learning process. Based on this model, the formative processes are flexible, centering on the alumni through flexible units of learning that require individual, group and team activities. In conjunction with other Institutions of Education, we are founders of CUMEX, (Consorcio de Universidades Mexicanas) which constitutes a common ground for providing excellence in quality of Education in higher learning Institutions, reflected by a high graduating index and employment rate, rate of retention and terminal efficiency, strength in their tutorial system as well as a solid faculty with diversity and strength in its lines of scientific research.
