Fu Jen Catholic University (FJU) is a private comprehensive university founded by the Benedictines at the request of the Holy See in Beijing in 1926, and was re-established in 1961 in Taiwan with the joint efforts of the Society of Jesus, Society of Divine Word and the Regional Bishops’ Conference.
The university comprises 11 colleges with a student body of more than 25,000. The university is especially known for its academic excellence in philosophy, sinology, foreign languages, mass communication, graphic design, law, management, physical education, medicine, applied science, and engineering. Fu Jen is one of excellent self-accredited universities in Taiwan. The university was also awarded the Best International Quality Assurance Prize by APQN (the Asia-Pacific Quality Network), the College of Management was accredited by AACSB, the School of Medicine by TMAC (Taiwan Medical Accreditation Council), and the Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering by IEET. Alumni of Fu Jen are constantly rated as the most preferred by employers.
Since its inception, Fu Jen Catholic University has enjoyed an international character. It has over 300 partner schools all over the world, and has more than 2,000 students from overseas.
