Azerbaijan Technical University

Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) is located in Baku, the capital of Republic of Azerbaijan. It was founded in 1950 under the name Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute. Since 1991, the university has been called the current name - Azerbaijan Technical University.

Azerbaijan Technical University is one of the leading Universities in Azerbaijan across the field of engineering. More than 9.000 students are studying at 7 faculties with 32 specialties at Bachelor, 35 specialties at Master and 56 specialties at PhD degree which covers a broad spectrum of courses and programs in engineering, technology, management and research where students gain a deeper quality of knowledge on the subject and clarify their views about how to use this knowledge in daily life and future career. AzTU is involved in numerous national and international research projects. We are currently developing double degree programs with universities of Turkey, Germany, Ukraine and Russia.

AzTU is a member of the Black Sea Universities Network, the Association of State Universities of the Caspian Sea Region Countries, the Association of Technical Universities of the CIS Countries.

There are modern laboratories and centers supplied with innovative technologies for practical lessons. “Cezeri Lab” laboratory funded by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), “Code Academy” auditoriums equipped with modern computers for students studying information technology and programming. "Green Energy Technologies" laboratory in the Chair of "Energy Efficiency and Green Energy Technologies" has modern equipment to study the operation of heat pumps, solar panels (for direct electricity generation) and solar collectors (for thermal energy). Our university offers Master ’s degree education in the specialization "Renewable energy sources" of the specialty "Thermal Power Engineering".

AzTU possesses dedicated research institutes such as Institute of Sustainable Development, Institute of Cybernetics, Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Energy Researches Institute, Institute of Logistics and Transport, Institute of Defense Industry Technologies, Institute of Industrial Design and Technology.

Moreover, the university library with more than 500,000 books and reading rooms, as well as about 20 teaching and multimedia halls with more than 400 personal computers, specialized laboratories serve students and staff.
