PPU today is a major centre of teacher education in the Republic of Kazakhstan

PPU, as a comprehensive university, offers over 100 different programs of study through its three Higher schools: High School of Humanities, High School of Art and Sports, High School of Natural sciences, High School of Education ).

PPU conducts preparation of pedagogical specialists 32 undergraduate majors, 18 master specialities, 8 doctoral specialities and 6 college specialities.

The University is an active member of international associations such as the United Nations Academic Influence (UNAI), Association of Pedagogical Universities of Kazakhstan and Russia on the development of cross-border education, International Association for Development of Education (IADE), Association of Asian Universities, Association of Friends of Tel Aviv University and others.

The university has advanced and unique research centres: Center of biocenology and environmental research, the Margulan Center (historical and archaeological research) and Scientific and practical centre “Rukhani zhangyru” (research in cultural studies) is a potential base for the development of talented youth.

The university has a good developed social infrastructure: dormitories, a museum, a scientific library, sports complexes, a swimming pool and a medical centre. The scientific library has a fund of over 1.5 million units of storage for students, scientists and teachers.
