苏莱曼大学

University of Sulaimani (UoS) was first established in 1968, the main campus is located in the city of Sulaimani in Kurdistan of Iraq. In the beginning there were only three colleges but during the years that followed, the number of the colleges increased dramatically as the result of growing demands of higher education in the country. In 1981, the former Iraqi regime transferred this academic establishment to the city of Erbil (Hawler) and the name was changed to become (University of Salahaddin). In 1992 University of Sulaimani was reestablished by tremendous efforts and enthusiasm of many Kurdish intellectuals and academics with the people of Sulaimani and was officially reopened on 14th of November.  Today University of Sulaimani includes (9) Faculties and (2) Colleges, students obtain BSc and BA degrees in various fields of study.

With over 20,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, 11 Faculties and Colleges and 12 Schools, University of Sulaimani offers a multidisciplinary curriculum which covers all the fields of studying from Medical Sciences to Applied Sciences, Agriculture, Engineering, Law, Commerce, Physical and Basic Education, Political Sciences, Languages and Humanities and Administration.     The University of Sulaimani is the first University in Kurdistan Region of Iraq and it's considered as the mother of all other Universities in Kurdistan Region which led to establishment of many University in the Kurdistan Region and provided academic professionals for them; and University of Sulaimani has a new modern campus with a large research center equipped with the latest technologies which is recognized as the largest and most advanced University campus in the region.
