PRESENTATION
The University in its ongoing effort to maintain academic excellence and the strengthening of the institutional awareness of university community with inclusive, challenges that society demands of higher education, it responds by raising institutional reforms, with the creation of the Comprehensive Basic Training Unit, as an academic unit that organizes and conducts an initial program of university studies for the students of the first-year undergraduate student with a solid scientific and humanistic, that placed in the best prospects for personal and professional development, and that leads to the integration of a college-going culture shared by the different races of the university.
Many careers and research programs have been developed since then. To the career of medicine were added the careers of Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, and then, successively, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy and Biochemistry and Nursing. In 2001, began, in the Faculty of Education, programs for the training of teachers, and from 2015, the undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. The most recent is the Public Health and Global Health, launched in 2015 to meet the need of society, to work on prevention rather than treatment of the disease.
We are aware that our students and graduates continue to be a fundamental part of the Heredian Community, given that it is on them that UPCH´s image, identify and projection, rests and that they are our nexus with society. For this reason, one of our main goals is to increasingly strengthen the participation of our alumni and graduate Management Units.
