Recognized by the State, L’École de design Nantes Atlantique grants a Master’s level degree certified by the French Minister of Higher Education, as well as various undergraduate degrees. Design training is based on professional, methodological, hands-on design projects conducted in partnership with companies.

The Master’s degree in design (MDes) is a 5-year curriculum divided into two cycles (a 3-year undergraduate program followed by a 2-year postgraduate program). L’École de design Nantes Atlantique is one of the few design school(s) to have obtained certification from the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research for its Master’s degree in design.

Undergraduate studies taught in French Foundation studies and 2nd and 3rd year levels of studies with a specialization in Graphic Design, Motion Design, Interaction Design, Game Design, Industrial Design, Transport Design, Interior Architecture or Scenography.

At the Bachelor's level:

- A one-year course is available in English - the International Class.

The International Class welcomes French students and international students of various nationalities who wish to join a MDes program through the third (which is the last) year of Bachelor level studies. It purpose is also to welcome students from our partner schools for an academic exchange semester.  Students from all over the world who have completed a minimum of two years in spatial, interior, product, visual communications, interaction design or graphic design are eligible to apply.

Students are organized into one of four programs, depending on their previous studies:

The validation of the International Class curriculum leads to a study certificate, akin to a “European Bachelor”, delivered when obtaining 180 ECTS and a minimum score of 700 points at the TOEIC test.


- A two-year course is available in English - the International DN MADE / Industrial Product Design

This program, organized in two years, offers a specialization in the fiels of industrial design. Product design is a design activity concerning consumer goods (household appliances, cars, furniture, packaging, homeware, etc), as well as capital goods
(professional equipment, tools, public transport, street furniture, etc.), whether they are manufactured on an industrial scale or by craft production.
Students from all over the world who have completed a minimum of one year in Product Design are eligible to apply. It purpose is also to welcome students from our partner schools for an academic exchange semester.

The DN MADE, national diploma in fine crafts and design, is a state recognized degree leading to the award of a bachelor degree after three years of studies.
