University was founded in September 1954. It is the flagship of engineering education in Kyrgyzstan.
KSTU has faculties such as: Information Technology, Power Energy, Transport and Machine Engineering, Technological.
KSTU has also institutions such as: Institute of Business and Management, Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications, Institute of Distance Learning and Increasing the Qualification; Institute of Mining and Mountain Technologies. There is also a polytechnic college and lyceum at KSTU.
More than 20 thousand students study at KSTU today, including students from Russia,... Read more Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Syria, Pakistan and other countries. Currently KSTU is a member of the consortium of the technical universities of the CIS and the Baltic States, of the Association of Asian universities, of the Russian-Kyrgyz Technical Universities Consortium. University participates in activity of the Universities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and is a partner with the European universities in international educational programs mobility project TEMPUS, Erasmus Mundus, etc.
More than 60 universities in the world have signed contracts with KSTU.
To improve the quality of education and improvement of material and technical base KSTU with international organizations (World Bank, GIZ and NATO, ISTC, CRDF, INTAS) has now been successfully implemented projects about 10 million euros.Read less
