Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD), founded in 1930, is a multidisciplinary education, scientific and innovative complex with well-developed infrastructure and modern material and technical base, which provides multilevel training of qualified specialists of various specialties. The University is a leader in training for light and chemical industries, fashion industry, business, artistic and technical modeling and design of industrial products, art, economics, and housekeeping, law, etc.

At the university, annually about 10,000 (including more than 500 foreign students from 26 countries) higher education applicants study in different forms and education levels in the specialties of 15 branches of knowledge (12 - a junior specialist, 25 – a  bachelor's degree, 20 – a master’s degrees, 12 doctorates of philosophy, 10 academic degrees of doctor of science).The University has unique scientific teams that carry out scientific and innovative activities and are recognized both in Ukraine and abroad. KNUTD has high professional and education recognition demonstrating its competitiveness through positions in national and international ratings. So in 2019 KNUTD confirmed its affiliation with the TOP 100 design universities in the world and ranks 66th in the world and 35th in Europe according to the American magazine CEOWORLD Magazine, which is the leader in business and technology world. As well, according to the specialized subject rating of this journal, KNUTD takes 71st place in the world among the best pharmaceutical schools in the world. According to the WEBOMETRICS rating, the university takes 29th place among institutions of higher education in Ukraine.

In 2017, KNUTD successfully passed external audits conducted by the national certification center STANDART (Ukraine) and the international certification center QMSCERT (Italy). As a result of this, the university received certificates of conformity of the quality management system of educational activities with the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001: 2015. The mentioned above confirmed that the university has a highly qualified team of scientific, academic and administrative staff; the processes associated with the provision of education services are carried out at a high professional level; the regulatory and legal tools of the system of internal quality assurance of educational activities have been developed; the provisions and instructions are documented and communicated to the staff who carry them out; effective means of monitoring the quality management system are being used.
KNUTD has high positions according to the results of the consolidated rating of Ukrainian universities “Osvita.ua” and is among the ten best universities in Ukraine according to the rating “TOP-200 Ukraine” in the group of technical universities.
