King Edward Medical University, Lahore

The King Edward Medical College (established 1860) was elevated to the King Edward Medical University (KEMU), Lahore in 2006, and is therefore the oldest and the most prestigious seat of learning, not only in Pakistan but in whole of the region. Mission of KEMU is to serve the health care needs of Pakistan by educating health care practitioners to the highest international standards and stimulating innovation through research. The King Edward Medical University runs courses of MBBS, DPT (Doctor of Physiotherapy), B.Sc Hons. (AHS), Postgraduate Diploma, M.Phil, MCEH (Master in Community Eye Health), MD, MS, MDS, Ph.D and fellowships. The university is organized in 05 faculties each headed by Dean. Seven Hospitals (i) Mayo Hospital Lahore (ii) Lady Willingdon Hospital (iii), Lady Aitchison Hospital, (iv) Kot Khawja Saeed Teaching Hospital, (v) Mian Munshi Teaching Hospital, (vi) Said Mitha Teaching Hospital Lahore, (viii) Govt. Nawaz Sharif Hospital, Lahore are attached with KEMU.
