阿曼德国技术大学（GUTECH）

The university is the result of long-standing cooperation between RWTH Aachen University in Germany and the Sultanate of Oman based on some archeological research of Professor Dr. Michael Jansen, urban historian at RWTH Aachen University. This archeological project led to a Memorandum of Understanding between Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Muscat and RWTH Aachen University. The Memorandum was signed in 2000.

In 2007, GUtech got the approval from the Ministry of Higher Education in the Sultanate of Oman for the first four Bachelor of Science programmes:

Sustainable Tourism and Regional Development (STRD) Urban Planning and Architectural Design (UPAD) Applied Geosciences (AGEO) Computer Science (CS)

The German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) strives to become a leading university of technology in Oman and the wider region, thus defining the highest standards in education, research and innovation.

During the summer semester 2013/2014 more than 1000 Omani and international students were studying at GUtech.
