Postgraduate programmes at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan)
are underpinned by world-leading research and innovation. They are
designed to enhance and develop students’ knowledge and skills to an

The University’s close links with global
businesses ensure that its almost 200 taught postgraduate programmes
meet the latest industry and sector needs - many of the University’s
courses are accredited by professional bodies. Opportunities are
available in all Schools to undertake supervised research at doctoral
and masters level.
With 11 areas of research judged
‘world-leading’ by the UK Government, and a further seven areas graded
as ‘internationally excellent’, UCLan has received global recognition
for its work. The University consistently invests in its research
centres which include the UK's first International Centre for Sign
Language and Deaf Studies, a nanotechnology research base in China and
the International Institute of Korean Studies under the Directorship of
world-leading researcher Professor Hazel Smith. UCLan’s student support
service ensures that students’ get the most from their time at the
University and can provide support to those students who are bringing
their families to the UK.
