The China Central Academy of Fine Arts is one of the most prestigious art academies in China. Having been founded in 1918, the academy was the first national arts school in Chinese history. The school received international attention after the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, when students created a large statue called the “Goddess of Democracy” in protest.

The academy currently has 4,700 students enrolled. As well as being able to enjoy the culture and sights of Beijing, students benefit from a range of on campus facilities, including studios for oil painting, printmaking, computer art, photography and architecture design. The university is also home to one of the largest professional libraries in China, which houses an extraordinary collection of art books.
