Founded in 1917, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú is turning 100 years old this year, making it Peru’s oldest private university.
The university is located at 1801 Universitaria Avenue, in the district of San Miguel on a 43-hectare campus close to the airport and Lima downtown, with good transport links that will take you almost anywhere in the city.
Today, the school boasts 11 faculties, 146 graduate programs, 17 research centers, 15 academic departments, 1 business school and 43 research labs.
PUCP also has collaborative work spaces, a digital 3D manufacturing and audiovisual production technologies room, a cinema, theatre and galleries, as well as a sports complex, with volleyball, basketball, soccer and a multi-use court facilities, to accommodate 1000 attendees.
To cater to its increasingly international student body (with 39 nationalities represented on campus), PUCP offers courses in Spanish and English, as well as a number of international scholarships.
It offers a range of bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, PhDs and professional degrees within the faculties of:
- Science and engineering
- Social sciences
- Science and arts of communication
- Management sciences
- Performing arts
- Arts and design
- Arts and humanities, law
- Education
- Psychology
- Accounting science
- Architecture
Graduates enjoy excellent job prospects, with 93 percent accepting a job offer since completing their degree, according to a 2014 survey.
